There’s a follicle, there’s another follicle…

and another one… and another… and another…

Scene: KF’s scan today

Outcome: 12 follicles on one side, 20 on the other. 32 in total.

We’re not sure whether to be pleased, or worried at the very real possibility that the cycle will be cancelled to avoid OHSS.

Wish us luck.

My lining is 5.7mm.

But I am quite worried KF may suddenly explode.

  1. Ouchie…It does depend on how the person counts them. Some scanners count EVERYTHING; others only count the mature. Let’s hope that the mature ones are a little less than 32, but more than 20 and that the cycle continues forward.

  2. hope things move slowly & safely forward.
    very exciting tho’!!

  3. So far so good, excluding the exploding ovaries 🙂 Good luck

  4. Here’s hoping that all will plateau for you and KF.

  5. Wishing you lots of luck. And hoping KF continues to feel ok. Are they 32 all the same size? Or are some a bit smaller? Like DD said it really depends on how they’re measured (and what her estrogen levels are).

  6. Wow! I’m keeping everything crossed for y’all. The numbers game is an odd one; my donor cousin had 40 follicles, 25 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilized, 2 transferred at 5 days and none made it to freezing. We have 1 healthy son, so we were really happy with the outcome! Fingers crossed! 🙂

  7. Well…On the first ovary there were 12 at 10-14mm. I think on the second ovary, with 20, quite a few were 10mm. She hasn’t had a blood test yet, I suspect they’ll do that tomorrow.
