Clinic trip

Have been meaning to post the update after our clinic visit, but the days since have been a bit of a mad whirl with DS’s 4th birthday party, family visits and general exhaustion.

So Friday was our initial trip to Small but Enormously Friendly Clinic, and it went well, after we got through the door at least. Let’s draw a veil over the journey where my GPS combined with DP’s poor map-reading skills had us going back and forth from one junction of the M25 to the next.. put 125 miles on the clock, for a journey that should be 35 miles!

Fertility doc was very nice, a few funny moments like the three of us walking in and a third chair having to be fetched (IVF is obviously normally a very coupley affair!)He took it in his stride when I confessed I was pregnant already (though doomed)

We seem to be on track for May, though he wants to scan Kind Friend in case of PCOS, and DP’s previous exposure to hepatitis  might turn out to be a dealbreaker.

At the end of the appointment, he whisked me in for a scan, I hardly had time to panic and as expected, there was a little gestational sac and yolk sac, measuring about 2 weeks behind. I’m just relieved it’s not ectopic and I can be left alone to miscarry naturally. I can’t describe what a relief it is not to have to go to the Early Pregnancy Unit.
